Our fire pits are more than just a hole in your ground. They’re your centerpiece of warmth, convenience, and building memories.
How else could we explain these pictures, each of them for happy customers with backyards?
Wood-burning fire pits
If you choose this, it’d be a classic choice. An ambiance you’d love, and the nostalgic scent of burning wood you can get enough of!
We’ll ensure your fire pit is designed for proper wood burning and airflow.
Gas fire pits If your home has a natural gas line, a fire pit using natural gas is really easy to use. You won’t run out of fuel, and it’s cheaper if you use it often. If you don’t have natural gas, a propane fire pit works well for small spaces and is easy to move around. It burns cleaner than wood, so there’s less smoke and ash, making it a good choice if you live in a city and want something low-maintenance.
Smokeless fire pits
Low smoke and less ash, and safer! Perfect for everyone, better for someone with allergies or smoke sensitivities. Your clothes don’t smell like smoke, neither does your outdoor furniture. A total win.
Stone is a natural aesthetic, and it comes in variety (flagstone, granite, bluestone). It’s naturally heat resistant, making it ideal for fire pit temperatures! Best thing – stone needs really minimal upkeep with proper cleaning and sealing.
Concrete lets you be picky, with fire pits in many shapes, sizes, and finishes to match patio. It’s incredibly durable and can bear the harsh elements better than every Spartan. Concrete fire pits are a budget-friendly option compared to some natural stones, and also bless you with a modern look.
For us, your safety is the top priority.
We are CMHA (Concrete Masonry & Hardscapes Association) certified, and we follow industry standards to ensure your outdoors are not just beautiful, but also hazard-free.
At Lapis Patios, we live by these 6 golden rules for fire pit design.
We maintain proper drainage solutions during construction, ensuring water doesn’t pool around the fire pit base. Just happy pits burning and singing “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire” on Christmas Eve.
We use the right base materials for your fire pit. We’re talking gravel for proper drainage, fire-rated bricks for heat resistance, or a concrete pad for stability. Foundation matters, so we put it first.
We design your fire pit with adequate ventilation to prevent smoke buildup, black spots in fire pits and carbon monoxide poisoning. This might involve air inlets at the base or strategically placed openings in the fire pit structure.
We position your fire pit at a safe distance from your house, fences, trees, and any other flammable objects, minimizing fire risk. Nothing important will burn; unless it’s your teen’s grade on a test.
Whether you choose wood-burning, smokeless, or gas fire pits, we ensure the design accommodates the specific fuel type safely and efficiently. We follow recommended burner placement and gas line installation protocols for gas fire pits.
At Lapis Patios, we source only the high-quality, fire-resistant materials like natural stone, fire brick, or pre-cast concrete fire rings. With these, your fire pit can withstand high temperatures, without any cracking.
The occasional ‘bonfire dance’ around the fire pits with your kids can help you crown yourself as the unofficial life of the party.
We’re talking about the classic campfire experience, but without ever leaving your own backyard.
We wish we were kidding (we don’t). We think you’ll dig it.
We ensure the fire pit is at an ideal height for comfortable marshmallow roasting, preventing burnt fingers and awkward crouching. Marshmallows should roast, not your hands.
During the design phase, we consider seating placement around the fire pit. We allow for ample space for everyone in your family to gather comfortably.
This has to be our favorite fire pit feature. Adjustable fire pits allow you to control the flame size for perfect marshmallow roasting. You can easily create a low, steady flame for even browning.
